Thomas D. Major
President, Major Concepts

Thomas D. Major is a nationally recognized sales and marketing professional, who has directed and created successful marketing plans for large corporations for over 20 years. Tom’s distinguished marketing career began with Eastman Kodak Co., where he held a variety of management positions regionally and on the corporate level. Among his many titles, Major was Eastman Kodak’s first National Accounts Manager. He went on to become a member of a small but powerful team known as Business Marketing Planning, which was responsible for the development of marketing strategy for Kodak’s Consumer Markets Division.

A career move brought Major to a real estate company in Atlanta named Buckhead Brokers, where he held the title, Director. Beginning with 30 agents, Major expanded the company from $30 million in annual sales to a large, integrated services organization including interior design, architecture, real estate sales, new home and commercial construction. Within four years, Buckhead Brokers grew to $500 million in sales with over 500 agents. Heralded by The Wall Street Journal as one of the nations’ foremost leading mega-home marketers, Major’s marketing efforts led to Buckhead Broker’s dominant brand identity within the Atlanta market and to the company’s acquisition to Coldwell Banker.

Major moved to the marketing agency side of the business in 1988 with the formation of Major Concepts. He provided marketing strategy and tactical development of marketing programs for such nationally recognized as Kodak and Georgia Power. His shareholder loyalty program for Kodak entitled “Friends First,” turned thousands of Kodak shareholders into advocates and brand champions. The third-party news publication he developed for Georgia Power, entitled Connections, became the cornerstone of a communications program for over 30,000 small business owners throughout Georgia.

His portfolio of high profile clients have given him experience in a wide variety of markets including Technology, HealthCare, Tele-Communications, Manufacturing, Real Estate Development, Travel, Big Box Retailers and more. Clients include Rosenbluth Travel, Identitech, Horizon Medical Products, Simmons Mattress, Primerica, Lowes Home Improvement,  Affinity Development, OldCastle and more.
