Scholder Ellen, Ph.D. Pam Scholder Ellen is associate professor of marketing at Georgia State University. She earned her Ph.D. in Marketing, with a minor in Social Psychology, at the University of South Carolina in 1987. Ellen has taught marketing research, advanced research, consumer behavior, customer relationship management, marketing intelligence, marketing communications as well as principles of marketing. She has taught at the undergraduate, masters and Ph.D. level and was appointed to the Graduate Marketing Faculty of Georgia State University. She is also a visiting professor, Ecole de Supérieure de Commerce de Toulouse, France. Ellen's research focuses on attitude formation and attitude change. Her research appears in such academic journals as the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Business Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Marketing Letters, Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, and Journal of Consumer Affairs. She has received numerous research awards for her work from the J. Mack Robinson College of Business as well as grants from several outside agencies. She serves on the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing and Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science as well as a regular reviewer of several other journals. She has served for several years on the executive committee of the Marketing & Society Special Interest Group of the American Marketing Association. Ellen worked as a research manager for BellSouth Advertising and Publishing Company where she was responsible for conducting focus groups as well as advising on experimental and descriptive research designs. For four years, she was a marketing research consultant for the Atlanta Paralympic Organizing Committee designing and implementing awareness and sponsorship-impact studies which guided the marketing strategies for the Games. She has designed and conducted qualitative and survey research for numerous for-profit and non-profit companies in the areas of customer satisfaction, product usage, trade show evaluation, publication readership, and corporate image. Her clients have included TAPPI (the Technical Association for the Pulp and Paper Industry), Impact Consulting/Janco Research, Aladan, Summit Marketing, Communicorp, Inc., Moody Dunbar, Inc., Richardson/Knapp & Associates, Kilpatrick Stockton and Piedmont College. She has also managed research studies for the Atlanta Zoo, SciTrek, Underground Atlanta, the Margaret Mitchell House, WPBA Public Television, Ashford-Dunwoody YMCA, and Trees Atlanta. She is a member of several professional and honor associations including the American Marketing Association, the Association for Consumer Research, Society for Consumer Psychology, Alpha Mu Alpha and Beta Gamma Sigma. |
